Ends: 06:00pm (duration is about 9 hours)

UPDATE: 4 May 2017

Arielle, Aron, Becca, Ellie & Mark,

Good news! I just found out that the first relay starts record fire at 1000 (sighters at 0950). This is an hour later than stated in the original match program, which means we still get up early on Sat, but not quite as early. Sweet!

Please plan to arrive no later than 0900.

AP tests and the SAT have taken their toll on all invited clubs – there are only 5 confirmed teams for Saturday. I believe they are filling in the open slots with individuals, but we won’t really know until we get there. I’m not really sure how the overall winners for the day will be determined with only 5 teams eligible for team awards. We will have to play it by ear, find out what we can on match day, and roll with any last minute changes.

But that doesn’t change anything about how you shoot your matches – ONE SHOT AT A TIME. First round will be 20 shots, second round is 30 shots and the final round is either 30 or 40, depending on which teams are shooting for top honors.

Show up ready to compete and have fun. See you in PA on Saturday.

ORIGINAL CONTENT
Palmyra is hosting a Bundesliga Air Rifle Tournament on Saturday, 6 May (the day before our end-of-year party). It would be a long day, but sounds kinda fun.

The format is a little different and is explained in the match program in the Documents section of the App

https://user-content.teamapp.com/images/newsletters/documents/original/242543-5d654a01b4a645beaa1c7cddde0dbd2dc5f6d812.pdf?1489712113

It’s basically a series of head-to-head individual matches of 40 shots standing, the results of which get combined into a team score. Everyone shoots 3 separate matches. The format is intended to create more pressure than a standard match, but in a slightly different way than you run into in an elimination style finals.

In order to participate, must take 5 and only 5 Acorns. Not sure how many will be interested. Here’s how we’re going to work determining who will go:

Athletes may RSVP to this event in the App/Website, now through 3pm Sunday afternoon (19 Mar). At that time, we will close RSVP and see how many we have. If more than 5 have signed up, we will use a random lottery draw to determine the 5 athletes that will represent the Acorns. Any remaining athletes will be wait listed according to the same random draw.

That should give everyone plenty of time to read the match program and understand the format, as well as determine if they are truely available and committed to going. Please do not signup unless you know you can go.

And as always, RSVPs from athletes only – no parents
