The Arlington Optimist-Acorns Combined Junior Rifle Club is an intermediate/advanced shooting club that develops junior shooters who have the basic skills for 3-position (3P) smallbore and air rifle competition and who want to progress to a higher level or further develop in the sport for continued competitive shooting. The Acorns compete in both precision air rifle and smallbore (precision .22 caliber) and travel to a number of competitions along the East Coast and to annual National Championships at Bristol, Indiana, Camp Perry, Ohio, and Anniston, Alabama. About a third of our members continue their competitive shooting careers into college (NCAA Rifle) and many continue to enjoy the sport for life.
